The UN GCD Supply Chain Dialogue 2026 brings together companies, suppliers, and rightsholder representatives to explore how human rights due diligence (HRDD) can become more effective, collaborative, and impactful.
The second session of the UN GCD Supply Chain Dialogue 2026 focuses on labour migration in the Middle East and brings companies into dialogue with Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA), a regional network of NGOs, migrant worker organisations, trade unions and advocates working to protect and promote the rights and welfare of migrant workers in Asia.
The session will examine the specific human rights risks that migrant workers may face throughout the migration cycle – from recruitment and pre-departure processes to employment, wage payment, access to social protection and return. MFA will share perspectives from its regional network and discuss how recruitment systems, cross-border supply chains and business practices can affect the rights and dignity of migrant workers.
Moving beyond a compliance-based approach, participants will explore how companies can strengthen human rights due diligence by identifying risks at an early stage, engaging meaningfully with migrant workers and their organisations, and improving access to remedy. The discussion will also address how companies can contribute to fairer recruitment practices, prevent wage theft and ensure that migrant workers’ rights are respected across complex supply chains.
